THE WASHINGTON PHENOM

Looking to continue his success as a freshmen from the previous year, the buzz around the Huskies fell short in 2008 as Locker was injured and knicked up for the entire year. Watching from the sideline most of the year, Locker was forced to see his team go winless
However, Jake Locker is back and healthy this year and leading the yet Huskies again. With a quarterback rating of 128.08, 11 touchdowns and 1,702 yards passing the Junior is being discussed as possibly one of the best talents at quarterback in the 2010 Draft. Being discussed by NFL scouts are his amazing attributes such as: his rocket arm, ability to move the pocket and throw on the run, continuous progression and maturiy in his game overall. If Locker decides to enter in the draft, I believe that the team who has the pleasure of drafting him is getting a franchise player, with all the physical talent necessary to become a great leader of their football team for many years to come.
"An absolute physical specimen" a fellow Pac-10 assistant coach was quoted as saying. "The best quarterback I have coached against" Pete Carroll, prestigious coach of the USC Trojans said. Very high praise for the 6'3, 226 pound kid from Ferndale, Washington. Jake Locker was handed the reigns as the Huskies' quarterback in 2007 and that year, he finished with one of the most prolific statistical seasons for a freshmen in school history. Passing for a total of 2062 yards and 14 touchdowns. Needless to say, the Jake Locker frenzy was just getting started.
